Cristóvam

Cristóvam was born amongst the deep blue of the Atlantic and the lush green of the beautiful Azores, Portugal. He is the grandson of a true radio pioneer who left behind a massive record collection and a big pile of radio paraphernalia. He grew up listening to 7″ singles on his fathers old jukebox. The likes of Supertramp, Dire Straits, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, among many other greats, would spin on that old jukebox, creating landscapes in his young mind, a refuge from the world outside and a portal to a world of his own. A passion which eventually led him to wanting to start writing songs of his own. His music is Azorean at heart, with Americana overtones. In 2015 he started writing and recording his debut album Hopes & Dreams. One year later, his first anticipation single “Walk in the Rain” was featured in Portuguese blockbuster “A Canção de Lisboa”. His next single “Faith & Wine” was awarded with a 1st prize at the International Songwriting Competition: a worldwide songwriting competition with over 16000 song year submissions and a judge panel featuring the likes of Tom Waits, Keane, Bastille, Lorde, among many others. His debut album Hopes & Dreams was released on 28 September 2018. Since then, Cristóvam has toured in 6 different countries, sharing stages with artists such as Stu Larsen & Natsuki Kurai, Scott Matthews, Tim Hart, among many others.
